Effective Date: April 19, 2026SaltSnap ("we", "us", or "our") is a simple utility app that helps you determine appropriate salt amounts for recipes. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about our minimal data practices.1. Information We CollectWe collect almost no personal data by default.- Recipe Data & Feedback (Voluntary only):
When you choose to submit feedback (thumbs up/down + optional comment), we send:
- The recipe text or ingredients you provided
- The salt calculation result (JSON)
- Your feedback (rating and comment)This data is sent only if you actively tap "Submit Feedback". It is used exclusively to improve the salt calculation engine.- No Account Creation: We do not collect email, name, or any account information.
- No Persistent Storage on Our Servers: Recipes are processed temporarily and not stored by us unless you submit feedback.
- Device-Level Data: Snap balance (remaining calculations) is stored locally on your device using Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store or UserDefaults. No server involvement.
- Analytics / Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.2. Third-Party Services- Anthropic Claude API: Recipes and inputs are sent to Anthropic’s API for AI-based calculation. Anthropic is contractually prohibited from using your inputs to train their models when accessed via commercial API. Data is processed temporarily and not retained by Anthropic beyond the session for our use case.
- Airtable (Feedback only): Feedback submissions are sent via a secure webhook to Airtable for review and product improvement. Airtable acts as our data processor.We do not sell your data. We do not share it for marketing or advertising purposes.3. Children’s Privacy
SaltSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.4. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete the app (this removes all local data)
- Avoid submitting feedback if you prefer not to share recipe data
